Exceptional writing

I’d like to share a sneak peek of the writing we’re going to publish. This work, “Spring Sacraments,” is copyright Tamara Holman.

I meant to do my work today but,

I saw the cottonwoods were in bud,

magpies swipe past the window,

balcony turned crow disco.

Ostara delights; winter is shut.

Crows lit on the balcony at noon,

for a ritual of the dark moon.

Seeds sown in pots made of peat

tucked away from snow and sleet,

and tended until they bloom.

I will also note that the current acceptance rate for Big Wing is 1.03% - we have seen insane submission volumes, which is wonderful, but it also means we cannot include everyone. So many talented writers may not be the right fit because of content, flow, length, subject matter, etc. We read every submission with care and attention to the greater whole we’re creating, a big wing of writing and art.
